Summary

The Business Service Representative will be part of a team who will care for multiple types of patients; pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiac and mild trauma. Primary duties include: registering patients, verifying insurance information and collecting co-payments.

The Department of Urgent Care consists of providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 5 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics (Chula Vista, Downtown, La Mesa, Rancho Bernardo and Sorrento Mesa).

With 400 primary and specialty care physicians providing care at 20 facilities throughout the region, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is one of the largest, most comprehensive medical groups in San Diego County, and is recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction and clinical care. For patient convenience and improved coordination of care, Sharp Rees-Stealy offers services like laboratory, radiology, physical therapy and urgent care within each clinic or nearby.

Location: position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County.

Hours: Per diem position - variable 9 hour shifts, including every other weekend

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of at least two (2) years' experience in a Medical Business Office, Medical Insurance Billing or Medical Scheduling Systems.
CPR and Medical terminology required, due within the first 90 days of hire.
Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner.
General knowledge of office procedures.
Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills.
Strong professional level of written and oral communication skills.
Ability to diffuse volatile situations and use good judgement and tact in dealing with patients.
ICD-9 coding, RVS coding and CPT coding.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Bilingual English/Spanish.
