Summary
The Cardiovascular Technologist II is responsible for the roles of scrub, circulate and monitor in the Cath Lab and assisting the cardiologist with all aspects of diagnostic and interventional procedures.  This role requires becoming proficient as a scrub tech and observing/maintaining strict sterile technique, as well as performing in the roles of monitor and circulator.  The Cath Lab Works as a team and the ideal candidate possesses great interpersonal communication skills representative of highly functioning teams.
Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is the only medical center in the South Bay providing comprehensive cardiac care.  Our two- room Cath Lab suite preforms procedures typical of larger facilities, such as diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantations, Electrophysiology/ablation studies and peripheral procedures.  As a STEMI center, we strive to meet the ACC goal of a door-to-balloon time under 90 minutes for all patients and are currently recognized by the AHA as a recipient of the Silver Award in both CHF and CAD.

Location
This position is located in Chula Vista, CA, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour shifts; Per Diem position to work Variable Shifts; weekends as needed; 
Weekends are on-call only. "on-call" also after all regularly scheduled shifts.  All employees are required to take call.  On-call requires 30 minute response time.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technology program
  • Associates degree
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association
  • Recent Cath Lab experience
  • Proficiency with GE Mac Lab/Cardiolab
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
  • Great communication skills
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • ACLS
  • IV certification
  • RCIS or RCIS eligible
  • Knowledge of EP procedures
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic
