Responsibilities

Summary
The Cardiovascular Technologist III in the Cardiovascular/EP Cath Lab will be responsible for direct patient care to include first scrub assistant, circulating & hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology & peripheral procedures.  Assist physicians, technical and nursing staff as required. 
Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is the only medical center in the South Bay providing comprehensive cardiac care.  Our two- room Cath Lab suite preforms procedures typical of larger facilities, such as diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantations, Electrophysiology/ablation studies and peripheral procedures.  As a STEMI center, we strive to meet the ACC goal of a door-to-balloon time under 90 minutes for all patients and are currently recognized by the AHA as a recipient of the Silver Award in both CHF and CAD.
Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is a 343-bed hospital with the largest array of health care services in San Diego's South Bay. Location
This position is located in Chula Vista, CA, San Diego County
 
Hours
8 hour shifts: Per Diem position to work variable shifts; weekends and call as needed. 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular program with an Associates Degree
  • Experienced CVT (two years), who has recent experience with EP studies, ablations and cardiac rhythm device implant
  • BLS for Health Care Providers by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • Working knowledge of invasive cardiac procedures, assisting the physician as directed
  • Must be proficient in scrubbing, monitoring and circulating during any invasive procedure
  • Must consistently follow procedures, must demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, cooperation, and maintain an attitude of professionalism, strictly adhere to all hospital and departmental safety regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
 
  • RCIS or RCIS eligible
  • IV Certification
  • Spanish and/or Arabic
