Summary

The Customer Information Representative manages general information and patient inquiry from the community and Sharp HealthCare staff on a 24-hour (if applicable), year round basis, utilizing knowledge of Sharp HealthCare services to assist callers and visitors in providing first person resolution whenever possible.

The Customer Information Center is committed to providing excellent customer service. Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is a hospital campus with over 440 beds and has the largest array of health care services in San Diego's South Bay. A designated Magnet and Planetree Person-Centered Care Hospital, Sharp Chula Vista is home to the region's most comprehensive heart program and offers exceptional services for orthopedic care and women and infants. The Douglas & Nancy Barnhart Cancer Center offers patients the most advanced treatment technology, a unique healing environment, and an extraordinary level of care.

Sharp Chula Vista has been providing health care to San Diego's South Bay community for more than 70 years. In January 2020, they opened a next-generation hospital tower, the first new hospital in the South Bay in more than 40 years. The new hospital tower combines clinical excellence with thoughtful consideration to provide the best level of care to the community we're privileged to serve.

As part of Planetree designation, the hospital tower includes:

  • 106 all-private patient rooms designed with safety and privacy as priorities, including 10 intensive-care suites
  • 6 operating rooms, including the South Bay’s only hybrid procedure room
  • Rooftop café with indoor/outdoor dining with panoramic ocean and mountain views
  • Additional space for support services including a pharmacy and kitchen

Location

This position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County

Hours

Part Time .5, Eve, Nights, Graveyards, Weekends,  Days as needed.  Varies 24/7 department

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Has the ability to think and act independently and demonstrate excellent customer service judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Has the ability to work in a team environment

  • Have the capability to communicate well verbally, using appropriate grammar and professional conversational skills

  • Has the ability to relate quickly and confidentially to callers

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software products and typing skills required for data entry, patient lookup, and documentation

  • Familiarity with GE Centricity/IDX patient look up programs preferred

  • Two to four years of experience in high-contact customer service position, preferably in a call center environment or concierge setting

  • Experience in dealing with multiple demands simultaneously and under pressure

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
