The Imaging Specialist I is responsible for following radiation/fluoro safety in the cath lab and assisting the cardiologist with all aspects of imaging during procedures. This role requires becoming proficient as a scrub tech and observing/maintaining strict sterile technique, as well as performing in the roles of monitor and circulator. The cath lab works as a team and the ideal candidate possesses good interpersonal communication skills representative of highly functioning teams.
Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is the only medical center in the South Bay providing comprehensive cardiac care. Our two room cath lab performs procedures typical of much larger facilities, such as diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantations, Electrophysiology studies and peripheral procedures. As a STEMI center, we strive to meet the American College of Cardiology goal of a door-to-balloon time under 90 minutes for all patients and are currently recognized by the AHA as a recipient of the Silver Award in both CHF and CAD. This position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County
8 hour shifts; to work variable Day and PM hours; weekends are on-call only. On call requires 30 minute response time. All candidates are expected to take call one day/week and one weekend per month.
This is a Full Time (1.0) Position: 80 hours/pay period
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent
- Current BLS for Healthcare providers by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification
- ARRT certificate
- CRT license and CA State Fluoroscopy permit
- Knowledge of aseptic technique
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; professional demeanor; skill to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to take direction, recognize emergent situations and respond appropriately
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One or more years of Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
