Responsibilities

Summary
The Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician provides the technical knowledge, expertise and judgment required to support the Sharp HealthCare (SHC) mission and scope of laboratory services. Performs waived and moderately complex testing.
Sharp Chula Vista Laboratory is a full service lab that supports the busiest ED in San Diego County per bed.  Lab disciplines include Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Pathology, Blood Bank and Outreach.  We perform 3.0 million tests annually and are growing our volume in the Outreach market.  Our leadership team promotes wellness, real time reward & recognition, professional growth, flexible scheduling and work/life balance.   We are proud to have a team of very committed and highly performing employees!   We have empowered our team to create innovative ways of providing patient-centered care, such as incorporating aromatherapy and hand massage into our practice to create a healing environment for our Phlebotomy patients.  These innovative services have received numerous awards from our organization and Planetree.  Take your career to the next level with Sharp HealthCare’s Clinical Lab Services!
Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is a 343-bed hospital with the largest array of health care services in San Diego's South Bay. Location
This position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour variable shift; including every other weekend
This is a Full Time (1.0) Position: 80 hours per 2 week pay period
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education required for California  MLT Licensure
  • Current California MLT licensure
  • Sufficient technical knowledge and skills to support the needs of the organization
  • Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner
  • Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Strong professional level of written and oral communication skills necessary to support the efficient and effective transfer of data and information
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Six months recent Medical Laboratory Technician experience in an acute care hospital laboratory
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT-ASCP)
