Responsibilities

Summary
The Nursing Assistant will work as a part of the health care team to provide, nurse support, optimal patient care and outcomes under the direction of a licensed nurse.
5 East IMCU-DOU2 is a 44 bed unit at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. This unit focuses on a wide variety of cardiac patients. Patient population includes cardiac pre and post open-heart surgery, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, chest pain, unstable angina, vents, cath lab, angioplasty, hypertension, diabetes, renal failure, and stroke. This unit features teamwork and enjoys strong positive working relationship with interdisciplinary team.

Location

This position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County
 
Hours
12 hour shift, Full-time, 7:00pm - 7:30pm, working every other weekend
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the AHA
  • Experience with direct patient care with activities of daily living, mobilization, transfers, hygiene needs, vital signs, EKGs, patient rounding, measuring and documenting intake/output. 
  • Ability to perform all baseline patient care skills under the guidance of a Licensed Nurse.
  • Fluent knowledge (written and spoken) of English.
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Comparable to certified nursing assistant course
  • One year recent experience in geriatric setting preferred OR one year recent experience in an acute care hospital.
