The Nursing Assistant collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse and delivers care with consideration to age specific needs/care. The Nursing Assistant contributes to overall unit functions.
Sharp Chula Vista’s Short Stay/SAFE 4E is a 44-bed unit that shares the patient population of short stay telemetry/medical/with outpatient orders. This unit offers an opportunity to work in collaboration with our current Specialized Adult Focused Environment (SAFE) unit patient population (11 existing beds), providing care for short-stay patients focused on limited diagnoses and treatment within a short timeframe. We are looking for nursing staff that is motivated to learn, able to prioritize care, and attend the needs of the patients.

- All-private patient rooms designed with safety and privacy as priorities, including 10 intensive-care suites
- 6 operating rooms (including 1 hybrid Operating Room)

- Additional space for support services including a pharmacy and kitchen
On the main floors, patients receive quality care in large, private rooms; a new-intensive care unit features high-tech suites for lifesaving care. In our spacious, new operating rooms, surgeons perform cutting-edge procedures for cardiology, radiology, and more. A versatile hybrid operating room can shift quickly from a catheterization procedure to surgery. Located at the top of the hospital is an indoor/outdoor café featuring panoramic views, from the ocean to the mountains.

This position is located in Chula Vista, San Diego County.
8-hour shift, Full-time, 7:00am - 3:30pm, working every other weekend
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the AHA
- Ability to perform all baseline patient care skills under the guidance of a Licensed Nurse
- Knowledge of basic patient/resident care skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Fluent knowledge (written and spoken) of English.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Comparable to certified nursing assistant course
One year recent experience in geriatric setting preferred OR one year recent experience in an acute care hospital
Experience with direct patient care with activities of daily living, mobilization, transfers, hygiene needs, vital signs, EKGs, patient rounding, measuring and documenting intake/output
