$20.000 - $22.314 - $26.777The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Assists patients, guests and employees prior to arrival into a Sharp facility. Performs public health screening protocols established by healthcare authorities prior to patient, guests and staff entrance into facility. Ensures social distancing is being honored in area of responsibility. Facilitates communication to internal departments as needed while maintaining a warm and caring image for our organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -PREFERRED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants -PREFERRED
- California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - CA Department of Public Health -PREFERRED
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) California Certification - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians -PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Customer service
Coordinate supplies before entering the shift (PPE, Equipment).
Required to wear facility mandated PPE.
Cordially greets patients, visitors and staff upon arrival.
Ask COVID-19 screening checklist questions for patients/visitors entering the facility.
Check patient/visitor and employee's temperature as indicated.
Provides protective mask to screened patients/visitors/employee.
Provides information and directs people to the location they need, thus creating a caring yet efficient environment.
Provides resources to staff when positively screened (for EOHD or Occupational Medicine).
Performs related duties as required.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. - Department efficiency and effectiveness
Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities.
Troubleshoots and resolves problems.
Daily Organization - Monitors entry flow and completes daily tasks to ensure quality and meet service standards.
Able to respond to changing circumstances and prioritize patient needs.
Responds to urgent and emergent situations in a calm and capable manner.
Utilizes good judgment and problem solving ability.
Maintains appropriate PPE supply levels. Cost conscious in usage.
Completes inventories per guidelines.
Travels to other screening locations as business needs arise. - Safety and support
Lobby Host/Greeter Screening Duties
Provide social distancing, waiting room, mask and visitor guideline education as needed-communication to leaders and other team members when concerns and barriers are presented.
Providing directions or escorting visitors as needed between departments within the facility.
Assist all COVID support specialists as needed/directed.
Confirming appointments with patients and departments within the facility.
Cleaning/sanitizing patient waiting areas.
Assisting leadership and departments with transporting and information within the facility.
Computer application experience and skills, assist with patient check-in applications. - Supply maintenance
Assisting leadership and departments with transporting and distributing medical supplies/information within the facility.
Assist all COVID support specialists as needed/directed. - Technical skills
Able to activate emergency procedure per protocol - code, fire, etc.
Able to use a computer for job related tasks, including timecards and email.
Able to operate and maintain necessary equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including being able to explain and help complete the COVID medical questionnaire.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals, including patients, physicians, leadership team and co-workers.
