Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year recent Acute Care experience
- One years experience as Unit clerk/secretary or related field in an acute care setting
- Completion of accredited telemetry course
- Current EKG/Telemetry Technician certification
The Telemetry Technician performs technical and clerical duties. The technical components include monitoring and interpreting patients’ cardiac rhythms and reporting life-treating arrhythmias to appropriate personnel.
The Telemetry Technician also performs as the coordinator of communication for the unit and assumes primary responsibility for medical record management. Greets visitors and ensure meeting of needs or referred to appropriate resources answers call lights. Facilitate patient data management through transcription, order entry, and documentation. Support best use of resources in management of equipment, supplies, and other department resources.
Sharp Chula Vista 3 East IMCU-DOU1 is a 44 bed unit. It is a stroke designated unit. Patient population includes cardiac patients, S/P coronary angiography patients, and critical drip protocols. The staff is enthusiastic, and quality of care and patient satisfaction is most important to them.
