The Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse and delivers care with consideration to age specific needs/care. The Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA contributes to overall unit functions. The Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA will be oriented to work in all long term care units: Sub-acute, TCU, Custodial, and Hospice. The CNA completes and assists residents with activities of daily living. The CNA completes delegated tasks within their scope of practice and within the designated time frame. The CNA demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload in accordance with the residents' needs. The CNA effectively communicates resident care activities, outcomes and changes to other members of the interdisciplinary team through clear documentation and/or verbal report. The CNA maintains a safe working environment for residents, families and other members of the health care team. The CNA consistently utilizes safe work habits. The CNA maintains resident privacy and confidentiality.
The Sharp Villa Coronado Skilled Nursing Facility and Sharp Coronado Sub-Acute Units provide long-term care to patients in San Diego. They have four levels of care: Custodial, Transitional, Sub-acute and Hospice. Individualized care plans are developed for each patient, and nursing care is focused on the patient’s health and social, emotional and spiritual well-being. Treatment plans are designed to help each patient achieve maximum independence and dignity.

Personalized programs and services bring comfort to patients in a homelike environment. All long-term care patients have access to clinical services including: 24-hour licensed nursing care, enteral therapy, integrative therapies including Healing Touch and aromatherapy, intravenous therapy, medication management, pain management, physician, podiatrist and dental visits. The Sharp Villa Coronado Skilled Nursing Facility has a 50-bed capacity, and the Sharp Coronado Sub-Acute Units have a 68-bed capacity.

Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant training course
Current CA certification as Nursing Assistant for long-term care and skilled nursing
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Health Association
Ability to perform all baseline resident/patient care skills under guidance of Licensed Nurse
Fluent knowledge (written and spoken) of English
Effective interpersonal skills
One-year recent experience in geriatric setting OR one-year recent experience in an acute care hospital
Current certification as Nursing Assistant in rehab
Acute Rehab, Sub-acute, TCU, Custodial, or Hospice experience
