Summary

The Pharmacist will provide the professional, clinical and technical knowledge, skills and expertise required for the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care in an ambulatory care setting.

The Sharp Coronado Community Pharmacy provides service to the Coronado and surrounding San Diego community.  Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0900-1830.  Saturday 0800-1200.  We are uniquely located in the Physician’s Office building and have a strong positive relationship with our community Physicians.  The average script count per week is 500 prescriptions.  We provide immunizations, blood pressure screenings, patient education on medication/products, and travel health services. We are looking for pharmacists that have a commitment to being a strong team player and providing outstanding customer service. Pharmacists will typically have a technician working alongside them but will be required to be able to work alone.  Pharmacists must possess the ability to operate the register and fill prescriptions on their own.  The pharmacist is expected to take the time to provide one on one consultation, perform medication therapy management, be proactive and anticipate needs of the team, patients and pharmacy overall.  In addition the pharmacist will precept students.

In this role the pharmacist may have the opportunity to cross train in our inpatient and Long Term Care Pharmacy.  The Sharp Coronado Hospital Pharmacy provides extensive clinical pharmacy services to the hospital’s inpatient and skilled nursing patients.

At Coronado Hospital and the Community Pharmacy, we're designing a place where patients have control over how their care is delivered and where the environment seems more like a home than a high-tech healing institution.  The Sharp Coronado Experience is a blend of The Sharp Experience, Sharp's employee-designed initiative that aims to make Sharp the best place to receive care, and the Planetree model.

Planetree is a set of concepts that focus on humanizing health care.  Sharp Coronado Hospital is proud to be an affiliate of Planetree, a coalition of over 100 hospitals nationwide that is committed to improving medical care from the patient's perspective.

From emergency services to a nationally recognized total joint replacement program, Sharp Coronado Hospital is a 181 bed facility that has a long tradition of providing top-quality, comprehensive health care.  Sharp Coronado incorporates many personalized aspects into its care philosophy — including patient empowerment, patient and family education, and a physical environment that promotes healing through complementary therapies such as clinical aromatherapy, massage and Healing Touch.  Sharp Coronado Hospital is one of the first five hospitals nationally to be designated as a Patient-Centered Hospital by Planetree, an organization committed to personalizing, humanizing, and demystifying the hospital experience for patients and their families.
