The Echo Ultrasound Technologist understands and applies appropriate imaging techniques to achieve the highest quality study obtainable. Performs exams and positions according to ultrasound protocols. Uses scanning equipment proficiently. The Echo Tech will triage patient load and perform routine and special procedure exams as assigned. Manages tests performed in the PAC's system, EchoPac, and EMR, Cerner. Demonstrates commitment to providing safe and efficient quality care. Adheres to all Sharp HealthCare practices and policies. Complies with all regulatory requirements including licensing, certification, and other mandatory training. Provides excellent Patient/Customer Service to all patients, co-workers, physicians and staff.
The Radiology Department at Sharp Coronado Hospital is a unique work setting which uses a wide variety of modalities to service both inpatients and outpatients in the surrounding community. We have as a variety of modalities to include, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, CR/DR, Fluoro, Mammography and DEXA. We are on a PACS system. Our staff provides a collaborative and friendly patient care and work environment. We are always interested in individuals that have a variety of imaging experiences and are willing to adapt that experience by cross training into other areas.

4 - 8 hour shifts; Per Diem position to work variable shifts and hours; weekends as needed; call is required;
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of certified Cardiovascular Technology Program in Non-invasive Cardiology Technology
- Current RDCS or RCS registry certification
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Experience as an echo tech
- Able to perform and interpret: transthoracic echocardiograms, TEE, stress echo, Dobutamine stress echo
- Advanced computer knowledge
- Able to abide by Sharp behavior standards
- Customer driven communication skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year experience as an echo tech
- Bilingual (English/Spanish
