The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist performs a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting physician as needed. Applicants must be competent in scanning complete abdominal exams, pelvic, endo-vaginal, scrotum, small parts and assisting radiologist with interventional procedures, such as biopsy, thoracentesis and paracentesis. Maintains knowledge of current department protocols and assures all documentation and tracking is completed on a daily basis. Ensures production of high quality images. Practices and adheres to regulatory requirements and infection control guidelines. Ability to concentrate on tasks at hand, consistently follows procedures, demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, cooperation and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism. Adheres to all hospital and departmental safety and compliance regulations, guidelines and procedures. Ensures high level of customer service.
The Radiology Department at Sharp Coronado Hospital is a unique work setting which uses a wide variety of modalities to service both inpatients and outpatients in the surrounding community. We have as a variety of modalities to include, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, CR/DR, Fluoro, Mammography and DEXA. We are on a PACS system. Our staff provides a collaborative and friendly patient care and work environment. We are always interested in individuals that have a variety of imaging experiences and are willing to adapt that experience by cross training into other areas.

This position is located in Coronado, San Diego County
- Completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school and meets requirement of an appropriate state and/or federal certification or equivalent
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS by the ARDMS)
- Working knowledge of full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and respectfully within interdisciplinary team, patients, and family
- One or more years recent experience in Diagnostic Ultrasound
