Summary
This position will include key job responsibilities of completing patient registration for Imaging patients, and scheduling general xrays. It includes insurance verification on our unscheduled patient population. This is a very busy environment which requires punctual arrival to work, ongoing communication with peers, patients/families, and clinical areas. High level of excellent customer service as well as team work and responsibility to department morale. Candidate must be comfortable in collecting payments for services.
Reports to Patient Access Services, but has an indirect report to the clinical areas as well. Our Grossmont Medical Terrace location can see upwards of 160 patients per day. The manager is responsible for 10 outpatient departments throughout the campus, so although this position may be primarily located at GMT, there will be opportunities to cross train in any area so that we can staff accordingly.

Location: This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County.
Hours
Variable shifts start anywhere from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, depending on department needs, but at this time, no later than 6pm.
Required Skills and Qualifications
At least 2 years’ experience in the Business Services setting with demonstrated above-standard performance in billing, account follow-up,and at least one other area of expertise.
Working knowledge of medical insurances, billing and collections guidelines/criteria.
Local, State, and Federal regulations governing registration/billing activities including JCAHO, Title XXII, Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations
Medical terminology.
ICD-9, RVS, and CPT 4 coding.
Basic computer functions and utilization management.
Accurately type or on-line key 35-40 wpm.
Organize and prioritize work activities.
Communicate/discuss personal and financial matters with patients and/or their representatives.
Document effectively and concisely.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Function well in demanding/stressful environments.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
