Location

This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County. 

 

Hours

8hr day shift, 8:00am – 4:30pm, no weekends.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years secretarial experience and advanced computer skills
  • Requires proficiency in the use of computer applications to complete documents/work assignments
  • Requires the ability to research and gather data from various sources and generates special projects/reports/summaries
  • Requires the ability to coordinates meetings and schedules to ensure there are no conflicts
  • Requires the ability to execute tasks with minimal instruction
  • Requires solid understanding of the English language, grammar, punctuation and math

Summary

The Administrative Secretary performs administrative and secretarial assignments under minimal supervision. They will ensure effective and efficient systems and processes are utilized to achieve and improve operational outcomes.

They will compose correspondence, memos, presentations, flyers, spreadsheets and other documents as requested.  Researches and gathers data from various sources and generates special projects/reports/summaries. Report generation may involve analyzing statistics and preparing spreadsheets, databases or other documents.  

Schedules meetings and related resources (room, AV, food, etc.) and confirms participants, prepares agenda and attachments, attends and takes minutes for meetings as directed, coordinates schedule of designated individual(s) using appropriate computer application and ensures schedule is current and accurate, coordinates meetings and schedules to ensure there are no conflicts and schedules special functions, travel arrangements as directed.

Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Emergency Room department is one of the most technologically advanced of its kind. We are the busiest community emergency department in San Diego County seeing more than 110,000 patients a year treating a diverse population. We have also been designated by the county as a STEMI center, due to implementation of new cardiac protocols meeting county and national guidelines for treating acute MI patients. Additionally, we have achieved stroke center status due to our focus on providing expeditious diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. We have a helipad that receives patients with medical emergencies, such as snake bites, heat stroke, and heart attacks, from our rural cachement area. Currently, we run 43 acute care beds 24 hours a day, plus 21 minor care and observation beds that are open during high volume hours. Opportunities for growth include MICN, advanced clinician, clinical lead and our new ICU/ED rotation.
