12-hour night shift, 6:00 pm - 6:30 am, every other weekends.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or equivalent from CoARC accredited school
- Current unencumbered CA Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- Current three (3) years of hospital based respiratory therapist experience in a Level 3 NICU
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years current Level 3 NICU experience preferred
The Adv Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) will serve as the Advance Life Support (ALS) - RCP during high risk deliveries. You will be responsible for neonatal intubation and radial arterial punctures at this time and required to take the lead role during neonatal resuscitation. In addition, ALS training will be offered in support of expanding your level of neonatal management to include needle aspiration and insertion of indwelling arterial and venous umbilical catheters. You will be expected to perform thorough neonatal assessments and communicate effectively with nursing and physicians.
The role of the Sharp Grossmont Respiratory department is to provide treatment and education to our pulmonary patients. Our large department consists of Advanced RCPs, RCPs, Clinical Leads, Clinical Specialist, Pulmonary Function Specialists, Equipment technicians and clerical staff. Our therapists are given the opportunity to work with patient population ranging from NICU to geriatric patients. On a typical day the therapist will have about 10-15 non-vent/4 vent patients per day.
