Responsibilities

Summary

The Concierge/Receptionist will assist Administration in delivering a high level of customer service in the Main Lobby by providing relevant and timely information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff, and providing volunteer guidance and training in concierge duties.

Maintains a safe and orderly lobby. Coordinates wheelchair availability, maintenance and storage.

Provides information and answers questions. Identifies and resolves customer satisfaction issues and reports them to the appropriate person and department. Responds to issues and requests immediately using good customer service standards reflective of the of the Sharp Experience. Answers phone and triages incoming telephone calls. Ensures telephone calls are answered and forwarded to the appropriate person or department in a timely and friendly manner. Utilizes service recovery tools appropriately.

Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s Main, Women's Center and Emergency lobby's provide enhanced concierge services, much like a 5 star hotel, offering excellent customer service for our guests, visitors and staff by, greeting, escorting and assisting in other activities such as transportation of patients and guests. The Concierge ensure that our guest have a personal Sharp Experience encounter, by providing efficient, customer-friendly front desk concierge service. In this busy department a smile is a must.  We are a department of 12 staff members and approximately 140 volunteers.

The hospital has outstanding programs in heart care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, robotic surgery, mental health, stroke care and women’s health. This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County

 

Hours

Per Diem Position-Variable

Week days and Weekends as needed

Day and Night shifts

 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Ability to remain calm with angry or distressed patients/visitors

  • Good organizational skills and basic computer knowledge

  • Good telephone etiquette and ability to be frequently interrupted

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred 

  • Two years experience in a hospital or customer service position preferred
