Responsibilities

Summary
The DepartmentSecretary provides clerical support for all departments but specific to the Social Services Department including the Volunteer Department, Spiritual Care and Bereavement Dept.Will support the departments in all clerical duties including the typing of minutes of meetings and task force, copy and distribute minutes of meetings and file appropriately, create new forms and revise old forms, process incoming and out-going mail, order supplies/forms and monitor usage as an example. Will maintain employee personnel files, monitor licensure and certifications. Provide communication and scheduling for bereaved families and participates in community event planning for families of those who have been on service.

We are a moderate sized Hospice that is Medicare Certified; Joint Commission Accredited; and part of an integrated healthcare delivery system.

Sharp Hospice Care is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and compassionate support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, along with their families and friends.  Services range from relief of physical discomfort to emotional and spiritual support.  Sharp Hospice Care also provides “pre-hospice” home based palliative care consultation for patients with advanced illness such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and dementia.

This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County
 
Hours

FT, 8:00am-5:00pm, days, some nights, weekends as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in office setting
  • Computer experience required – Microsoft Publisher, Excel, Word
  • Community experience preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills required
  • Must be flexible in a dynamic setting
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent preferred
