The Health Care Partner (HCP) will function competently as a Nursing Assistant and Unit Clerk. The HCP will perform baseline patient care skills under the guidance of licensed nurse. Push, walk, lift and assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and bed mobility. Responsible for medical record management. Facilitates patient data management through transcription, order entry, and documentation.
5-East is a 37-bed Neuro/Stroke Progressive Care Unit that focuses on the neurological management of patients. Sharp Grossmont Hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and is one of the only hospitals in the San Diego-area with a specific unit dedicated to stroke care. 5-East provides its staff with the opportunity to work with Progressive Care/telemetry level of care and gain specialized skills in acute stroke care. This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County
12-hour shift: 7 pm - 730 am with every other weekend
Required Skills and Qualifications
One year current Acute Care Nursing Assistant experience
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
Excellent customer service skills
- Computer/Clerical skills
- Ability to communicated clearly and effectively
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or current enrollment in a RN program with completion of the Nursing Fundamentals course
- Current California issued Nursing Assistant certification
- Acute Care Unit Clerk experience
- Cerner experience
