The Imaging Specialist II in the Cardiac Cath Lab is responsible for overseeing all aspects of radiation/fluoro safety and equipment in the cath lab and assisting the cardiologist with all aspects of imaging during procedures.  This role requires becoming proficient as a scrub tech and observing/maintaining strict sterile technique, as well as performing in the roles of monitor and circulator.  The cath lab works as a team and the ideal candidate possesses good interpersonal communication skills representative of highly functioning teams.
Sharp Grossmont Cath Lab is a dynamic and team oriented department.  We currently have three Cath Labs that support peripheral vascular cases performed in the main OR. Our staff includes RN's, RT's and CVT's.  We have a strong team to support twenty plus physicians, including eight interventional cardiologists.  Scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring all procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including diagnostic and interventional procedures, peripheral vascular interventions, pacemaker insertions, and electrophysiology procedures.

This position is located Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA, San Diego County
12 hour shifts; Full-time (.9) position to work Day Shift hours; 6:30 am > 7:00 pm; call requires 30 minute response time; call is required; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Current California License in Radiologic Technology (CRT)
  • Current California Fluoroscopy permit
  • ARRT in Radiology
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Knowledge/experience with overseeing all aspects of radiation safety and equipment in the cath lab
  • General basic computer skills to include PACs, Microsoft office, Cerner
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; professional demeanor; skill to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction, recognize emergent situations and respond appropriately
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Recent experience in interventional Radiology or Cath Lab
  • One or more years’ experience as an Imaging Specialist
  • Skill to assist and setup patients during EPS.
  • Skill to assist and take an active role in TAVR procedures.
  • Skill to function in all capacities during structural heart procedures.
  • Ability to disable/enable AICD therapies on devices
