The Lead Medical Social Worker provides consultation and psychosocial counseling and support services to patients and their families. In addition to by providing clinical services to patients and families, the Lead Medical Social Worker is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the operations of the department.
The Case Management and Social Work department at Sharp Grossmont Hospital employs 75 staff members consisting of RN's, Social Workers, and non-clinical support staff to help patients utilize their health plan benefits appropriately and transitions back to the community safely.

This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego
8-hour shift, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- Current California LCSW License
- Five years of clinical experience
- Two years of clinical experience in an inpatient setting
- One year of leadership experience
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in a health care setting
- Management experience
