Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Nursing School/Program (RN)
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Current unencumbered CA Registered Nursing License
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Two years of related leadership experience
  • Five years recent Medical Surgical Nursing experience  
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and positive leadership skills
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer service focus  
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing

Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment.  The ideal candidate will provide twenty-four (24) administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the planning, operating, staffing, and coordinating of assigned nursing department to insure safe high quality care.   This position is accountable for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of the Transitional Care Unit and is subject to acting as a system resource for SNF/LTC issues when called upon to do so.  This position is subject to functional policies and goals, and has discretion to establish plans and recommend policies/protocols and priorities, provided goals and activities are in alignment with organizational and regulatory driven goals/guidelines
Sharp Grossmont Hospital's 3 North/Transitional Care includes a 5-bed Skilled Nursing Unit. This position requires a positive, enthusiastic individual willing to be part of a dynamic team. The staff on this unit work extremely well together creating a family-like environment. The ideal candidate will perform the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs throughout the continuum of care and according to department's standard of care. Performs the nursing process for patients with assistance and supervision. Assists with the coordination of patient care administered by other members of the healthcare team. May assume the responsibility of Charge.
