The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides treatment under the direction of an Occupational Therapist for patients with neurological, orthopedic and medical and surgical disabilities or injuries in the Acute Hospital and/or Rehab Center. The OT Assistant is responsible to complete all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements. Provides cooperative and courteous services to internal and external customers as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction and the Sharp Experience.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s rehabilitation program offers a wide range of services that allows patients who have had a catastrophic injury or disabling illness to more easily return to their highest level of independence. We offer rehabilitation services at two locations — at the Sharp Grossmont Rehabilitation Center on the hospital campus, as well as the outpatient Briar Patch facility behind the hospital. Our Rehabilitation Services are recognized in the top 9 percent out of the more than 805 rehabilitation centers across the nation for patient outcomes. Our stoke specialty program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation facilities (CARF).
The rehabilitation team consists of a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who care for the patient from admission through discharge. The team includes board-certified rehabilitation physicians; nurses; social workers; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists; neurological psychologists; and case managers.

This position is located at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA, San Diego County
- Current California Occupational Therapy AssistantLicensure
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Must have entry level clinical skills in assessment and treatment of the acute medical patient and demonstrate competency with patient treatment
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Completion of a 2 year Associate’s Degree in an approved COTA program
- Acute or outpatient OT Assistant experience
