Responsibilities

Summary
Provides direct observation and ensures a safe environment for patients who require constant attention/supervision under the direction of a licensed nurse with consideration to age specific needs/care. Exhibits caring and compassionate behavior in the provision of care to a wide range of patient populations.

Sharp Grossmont Float Pool, is a pool of dedicated clinical professionals that provide routine Nursing Care and perform established nursing procedures for adult, geriatric and patients in a skilled nursing, acute and critical care environment throughout Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital is the largest not-for-profit, full-service acute care hospital in the region with 542 beds. The hospital has outstanding programs in heart care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, robotic surgery, mental health, stroke care and women’s health. In addition, the hospital’s Emergency and Critical Care Center is one of the most technologically advanced emergency and intensive care facilities in the nation.

Location
This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County at Sharp Grossmont Hospital for the Nursing Support Float Pool
 
Hours: per diem - Training hours will be during the day.  Working hours will be during the night.  Must commit to 4 shifts in a 4 week period with 2 shifts being on a weekend.
 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or current enrollment in a RN nursing program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform all baseline resident/patient care skills under guidance of Licensed Nurse
  • Fluent knowledge (written and spoken) of English 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • One year recent experience in an Acute Care hospital and/or geriatric setting
