The Pharm Tech IV Specialist will assist the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Pharmacy Services and Sharp HealthCare. Performs technical tasks involved in the preparation, documentation and distribution of intravenous medications. Provides operational, developmental, and quality assurance / improvement support for IV admixture programs.
Currently SHIS consists of a pharmacy department (Home Infusion, Hospice, Specialty Pharmacy and a Home Health Nursing cost center with approximately 30 employees. We are a provider of medications, supplies, medical equipment and nursing visits to patients in their home.
The goal at Sharp Home Infusion Services is to offer high quality patient care and services that go above and beyond customer expectations. They employ a team of pharmacists who provide clinical evaluation and management, pharmacy technicians who prepare and package infusion products, a dietitian for nutritional consultations, as well as specially trained home-infusion nurses, all who coordinate care for patients in their homes.
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County
8-hour day shift, rotating weekend. On call as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current unencumbered California Pharmacy Technician (TCH) license
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license
- Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital pharmacy environment is preferred
- Two years’ current Pharmacy Technician experience in Home Infusion or hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Excellent aseptic technique for IV admixture compounding
