The Physical Therapist Assistant II provides treatment under the direction of a Physical Therapist for patients with neurological, orthopedic, and medical and surgical disabilities or injuries in the Acute Hospital. Patient length of stay is 2-3 days. The Physical Therapy Department is very fast paced with a high turnover of patients. The Physical Therapist Assistant II is responsible for completion all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements. 8 hour shifts; per diem position to work day shift hours; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; no weekends
Required Skills and Qualifications
- CA Physical Therapist Assistant licensure
- Valid BLS for HealthCare Providers by the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatment methods
- Ability to direct work of aides and/or student interns
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, self-motivated and attentive to details
- Skill to keep neat, accurate and concise records
- Must work well within a team oriented environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of two (2) year Associates degree in PTA Program
- Experience in an Acute Care Physical Therapy
- Computer skills; ability to use electronic medical record
