The Physical Therapist I evaluates, plans, directs and administers physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities when requested. This position will work in the Acute Physical Therapy Department at Sharp Grossmont Hospital
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s rehabilitation program offers a wide range of services that allows patients who have had a catastrophic injury or disabling illness to more easily return to their highest level of independence. We offer rehabilitation services: at the Sharp Grossmont Acute Care hospital, Grossmont Rehabilitation Center, as well as Outpatient therapy for orthopedic PT, Hand treatment and patients with neurologic diagnoses. Our Rehabilitation Services are recognized in the top 9 percent out of the more than 805 rehabilitation centers across the nation for patient outcomes. Our stoke specialty program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation facilities (CARF).
The rehabilitation team consists of a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who care for the patient from admission through discharge. The team includes board-certified rehabilitation physicians; nurses; social workers; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists; neurological psychologists; and case managers.

This position is located in La Mesa, CA, San Diego County.
8 hour shifts; Per Diem position to work variable day shift hours; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of an accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy
- Current CA State Physical Therapy licensure
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One or more years of PT experience in an acute care Physical Therapy setting
- Master’s or Doctorate’s degree in Physical Therapy
