The Physical Therapist II evaluates, plans, directs and administers physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities when requested. This position will work with medical surgical patients on the Acute Care units in the main hospital.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s rehabilitation program offers a wide range of services that allows patients who have had a catastrophic injury or disabling illness to more easily return to their highest level of independence. We offer rehabilitation services: at the Sharp Grossmont Acute Care hospital, Grossmont Rehabilitation Center, as well as Outpatient therapy for orthopedic PT, Hand treatment and patients with neurologic diagnoses. Our Rehabilitation Services are recognized in the top 9 percent out of the more than 805 rehabilitation centers across the nation for patient outcomes. Our stoke specialty program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation facilities (CARF).
The rehabilitation team consists of a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who care for the patient from admission through discharge. The team includes board-certified rehabilitation physicians; nurses; social workers; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists; neurological psychologists; and case managers.

This position will be located in La Mesa, CA, San Diego County
8 hour shifts; Full-time position to work Day Shift hours; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; weekends as needed
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of an accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy
- Current California Physical Therapy licensure
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Two or more years of PT experience in Acute Physical Therapy
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
