The Radiation Therapist works is in a fast-paced radiation therapy department treating 40-60 patients per day. Work alongside a team of experienced oncology professionals. Explain treatment plans to the patients and answer questions about treatment. Follow safety procedures to protect patients; monitor patients for unusual reactions to treatment; keep detailed records of treatment using computer program.
The Radiation Therapy department is a part of the Sharp HealthCare system located in the East County of San Diego where the sun is always shining! We recently installed an Elekta Versa HD to accompany TomoTherapy HD, an XStrahl Superficial unit, a Varian HDR unit and a Philips Big Bore CT. We treat approximately 50 patients a day with a staff consisting of 2 radiation oncologists, 5 radiation therapists, 1 dosimetrist, 2 physicists and other support staff. Our employees enjoy working with the community at health fairs, lectures and cancer event. Our staff is team oriented and works collaboratively to ensure the best place to work and care for our patients. Our Cancer Center is CoC and NAPBC accredited.

This position is located at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA in San Diego County.
8 hour shifts; per diem position to work day shift hours; 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; no weekends
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current CRT
- ARRT in Radiation Therapy
- Valid BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association
- Recent experience as radiation therapist in an acute care hospital or clinic setting
- Proficient computer skills for charting and for documentation purposes
- Skill to work efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced setting with multiple priorities
- Outstanding team work, customer service and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy
- One or more years of experience as a Certified Radiation Therapist in a hospital or clinic setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic)
