The Rehab Aide assists the supervising therapist with patient care within the context of the clinical environment and training received. The aide's verbal/written communication is timely, complete and accurate and follows Sharp HealthCare guidelines. The aide is cooperative and courteous to the customers and demonstrates appropriate awareness of age and cultural needs as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s rehabilitation program offers a wide range of services that allows patients who have had a catastrophic injury or disabling illness to more easily return to their highest level of independence. We offer rehabilitation services at two locations — at the Sharp Grossmont Rehabilitation Center on the hospital campus, as well as the outpatient Briar Patch facility behind the hospital. Our Rehabilitation Services are recognized in the top 9 percent out of the more than 805 rehabilitation centers across the nation for patient outcomes. Our stoke specialty program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation facilities (CARF).
The rehabilitation team consists of a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who care for the patient from admission through discharge. The team includes board-certified rehabilitation physicians; nurses; social workers; physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists; neurological psychologists; and case managers.

This position is located in La Mesa, CA in San Diego County
8 hour shifts; Per Diem position to work Day Shift hours; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current BLS for HealthCare Providers by the American Heart Association
- Strong customer service, computer and telephone skills
- Ability to assist the PT with Physical Therapy modalities and exercise programs safely and according to accepted standards
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Enrollment in/graduation from pre-physical therapy program
- One year Rehab Aide or recent related patient care experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medial office experience
