The Telemetry Technician Interprets EKG strips, assists with phones and call light, assist Physicians with questions. Telemetry Technicians will also work as the coordinator of communication for the unit and assumes primary responsibility for medical record management.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s Outpatient Observation unit is 43 beds that shares the patient population of short stay telemetry/medical/ with outpatient orders. The opportunity to work in collaboration with the Emergency Department, provide care that is focused on limited diagnoses and treatment within a short timeframe requires staff that are motivated to learn, able to prioritize care and attend the needs of the patients.

This position is located in La Mesa, San Diego County
Full Time - 12 hour - Night position
7:00am - 7:30pm - including every other weekend
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Tech
- Completion of an accredited telemetry program
- One year experience as Unit Clerk/Secretary or related position in an acute care setting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- EKG/Telemetry Technician certification
