Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current ARDMS certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Knowledge of Perinatal ultrasonography procedures
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Three years’ Perinatal ultrasonography experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Arabic)
The Ultrasound Tech – Perinatal obtains high-quality images and performs various exams according to Imaging Dept. protocols and guidelines. Will perform scans with top-of-the-line equipment for quality obstetrical images reviewed by Perinatologist, R4 reporting system and verifies correct charges with Perinatologist in a timely manner. Works in tandem with other sonographers to ensure scheduled patients and INPT add-ons are accommodated, supported by HCP and receptionist, reports to Supervisor.
The Perinatal Ultrasound department is located within the Women’s Center at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. This position will be responsible for the specialty of Perinatal Ultrasonography. We run 3 rooms with state of the art imaging equipment sent and stored in PACS, and utilize the R4 reporting system. Our staff is highly trained and certified to meet the needs of San Diego Community. The sonographers work closely with the Perinatologist physicians who are dedicated to providing the highest quality care to moms-to-be and their infant. The team of highly skilled maternal-fetal medicine specialists (Perinatologists), look forward to working closely with the patients and the obstetricians to optimize the pregnancy outcome. We work in a collaborative team environment which continues to grow and strive to give the best care possible while meeting the diverse needs of our patients and family members.
