Responsibilities

Summary
Analyze, develop, and validate statistical data. Assist in the maintenance of actuarial models developed by internal and external actuaries.  Assist in the preparation of data inputs for actuarial models developed by internal and external actuaries.  Assist internal and external actuaries with ongoing and ad hoc analyses.  Assist underwriting processes.  Assist internal and external actuaries with regulatory reports.  Assist other departments with premium and benefit validation and testing

Location
This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour shift: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, weekends as needed.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong PC skills in including Microsoft Excel formula expert
  • Data retrieval skills and relational database experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
 
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of one-two Society of Actuaries examination
  • Previous health benefits actuarial experience
