Responsibilities

Summary

The Anesthesia Technician will provide re-operative and intra-operative assistance. Sets up anesthesia machines/equipment, monitoring equipment and supplies for procedures per department expectations and according to scope of practice. Anticipates needs by obtaining/preparing correct and/or equipment. Delivers needed or required supplies and/or equipment. Transports patients in a safe and timely manner according department protocol. Maintains appropriate performance of skills roster/competencies related to patient care including surgical positioning and surgical skin preparation.

The Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion (OPP) is unique in San Diego. The OPP combines outpatient surgery and medical services, health screening, education, and health resource services in one convenient, integrated health center. The OPP provides a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care to deliver comprehensive care. There are 12 state of the art Surgical Suites and 2 Interventional Pain Suites. This is a fast paced, multi-specialty Outpatient Surgery Center performing surgeries in the following areas: General, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cosmetic, Ophthalmology and Interventional Pain.

Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion, located next to Sharp Memorial Hospital, offers a wide array of services including cancer treatment, laser vision correction, general and women’s imaging, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, diabetes education, and a community conference center and health library. At the heart of the Pavilion is the Cushman Wellness Center — providing comprehensive health evaluations tailored to an individual’s age and lifestyle, and integrative therapies to enhance physical, mental and spiritual health.

Location

This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County

Hours

Per Diem position

8 hour shift between 5:30am - 6:00pm
Monday through Friday

Required Skills and Qualifications

One-year experience within a hospital setting
Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers
Accurately maintain written records
Ability to perform anesthesia aide duties
High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Previous Anesthesia Tech experience
ASATT certification
