The Business Service Representative is responsible for patient registration, demographic and insurance updates. Works with patients to resolve billing and insurance related issues.

Sharp Rees-Stealy Santee offers comprehensive medical services to those living in Santee, El Cajon, Lakeside, La Mesa and other East County communities. The 86,000 square-foot site features most of the care needed under one roof, including lab, pharmacy, an optical shop, radiology, urgent care and primary and specialty care. 

Our primary care physicians and specialists — as well as radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, optical and urgent care services — are all here and ready for you. We offer same-day or next-day primary care appointments with our Santee doctors. Our urgent care center is open every day. And our providers are available both during the day and after hours by phone.

Sharp Rees-Stealy has been serving the health care needs of San Diegans since 1923 when doctors Clarence Rees and Clair Stealy formed San Diego's first multispecialty medical group practice. Today, Sharp Rees-Stealy has 22 locations (and still growing) and over 500 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.


This position is located in Santee of San Diego County.




Per diem: 9-hour variable times and shifts; includes every other weekends.



Required Qualifications


  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2 Years Experience in Business Office, Medical Insurance Billing or Scheduling Systems.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) –REQUIRED.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework in medical terminology.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner.
  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Strong professional level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to diffuse volatile situations and use good judgement and tact in dealing with patients.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. ICD-9 coding, RVS coding and CPT coding.
