Location

Per diem SRN Case Manager for Sharp Community Medical Group to cover Palomar and Pomerado Hospital PRN.

 

Hours

8-hour day shift with variable hours, coverage to include one day shift during the Monday-Friday work week and one weekend day shift per week with potential for expansion of hours in the future.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current, unencumbered California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care experience in at least one of the following areas:  medical/surgical, rehabilitation, oncology, AIDS, neonatal, pediatric or cardiac nursing
  • Three years of Utilization/Quality and/or Case Management experience in a payer setting, medical group or HMO
  • Ability to work with payer/medical group and medical group/physician contractual agreements and risk arrangements
  • Ability to recognize medically necessary care versus unnecessary or inappropriate service
  • Knowledge of current standards of practice and available health resources within the community
  • Knowledge of a variety of health care delivery settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated objectivity and tact in the provision of medical care
  • Ability to recognize standard medical and psychiatric benefits provided in HMO benefit plans, including Medicare risk HMO’s
  • Experience with on-line information systems and MS Office
  • Participation in one local QM/UM/CM organization
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Utilization, Quality Assurance and/or Case Management certification  

Summary
This Case Manager III – Per Diem Float position is responsible for coordinating the healthcare of eligible enrollees, to ensure appropriate, cost-effective care while maintaining the highest quality of service.
