The Certified Phlebotomy Technician will work closely with nursing staff in providing excellent patient care. Performing phlebotomy of patients with different age population in a safe and quality manner; specimen processing, data entry and prioritizing draws. Work in a team environment and also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
This is a float pool position through Staffing Resource Network (SRN). The SRN department offers opportunities to experience a wide range of patient care at various sites within Sharp HealthCare. This position requires an enthusiastic, positive individual willing to be a part of a dynamic float pool servicing all of Sharp HealthCare.
Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
This is a float position traveling throughout San Diego County to all the Sharp HealthCare Laboratories including Acute Care, Outreach and the Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics
This is a Per Diem Position; 8-hour variable shifts.
This position requires a commitment to be available to work at least eight (8) shifts during each four (4) week schedule including four (4) weekday and four (4) weekend shifts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician - CPT I or CPT II
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
- Excellent direct customer service, communication and critical thinking skills
- Computer skills, data entry proficiency
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One year recent Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) experience in an acute care hospital setting
