- Critical Thinker
The Clinical Nurse RN is an integral part of the team with the opportunity to practice evidence-based care and utilize the nursing care process in a collaborative environment. This position independently performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic, efficient care of patients with overt and subtle needs throughout the continuum of care, according to unit’s standard of care. We are looking for qualified nurses to share our vision of patient care that continually moves toward excellence in all patient and staff outcomes.
7 south Progressive Care Unit is a new 19-bed Neuro/Stroke Specialty Unit that focuses on the neurological management of patients. Sharp Memorial Hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center.This unit provides staff with the opportunity to participate in unit culture and practice pattern development and gain specialized skills in acute stroke care. With emphasis on a team-oriented approach, innovation, and laughter, this staff takes great pride in the growth of the unit, cohesiveness, and excellent outcomes while creating a dynamic environment for healing and holistic care. It is our goal to improve the health of our patients through consistent, collaborative care and commitment to excellence utilizing outcome measurements and continuous quality improvement

This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
Sharp employees are eligible for a $1000 Employee Referral Bonus
Qualified candidates may be eligible for a relocation bonus
Full-time (0.9), Night shift, 12-hour shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; including every other weekend
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing School/Program
- Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse licensure
- Current AHA BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- One year recent pertinent clinical experience
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current AHA ACLS certification
- Telemetry experience
- Progressive Care Unit experience
- NIHSS certification
- Neuro/Stroke experience
- RN Stroke Certification (SCRN/AANN)
