This position is located in El Cajon, San Diego County
8-hour day shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; no weekends
This is a Part Time (.8) Position: 64 hours per 2 week pay period 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ph.D., PsyD., or Ed.D from an APA accredited doctoral program in psychology
  • Current California Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)  
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
  • Three or more years recent clinical experience working in a psychotherapeutic capacity (i.e. individual, couples, family, group psychotherapy or psychological testing)
  • Demonstrated competence in group, individual, and family therapy
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and oral and written presentation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional-development
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of an APA doctoral internship in clinical psychology
  • Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in a relevant specialty area such as severe mental illness, trauma, psychosocial rehabilitation, cognitive behavior therapy
  • At least one year experience (pre or post licensure) in an inpatient psychiatric treatment setting
  • Expertise in CBT, DBT, ACT, group therapy and the Recovery Model
  • Experience supervising/training psychology students/interns/fellows
  • Leadership experience in program development/evaluation


The Clinical Psychologist I evaluates, plans, directs and administers Psychology services. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities.  Completes all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements. Provides cooperative and courteous services to internal and external customers as part of Sharp HealthCare's commitment to customer satisfaction. Promotes constructive working relationships and works effectively as a part of the team to facilitate its ability to meet its goals and objectives. Performs duties as necessary for efficient departmental functioning and optimal patient care delivery. Identifies own needs for skills training and practice opportunities and demonstrates initiative in taking classes or attending programs related to work area and may contribute to professional development/education of staff members, other professionals and/or general public.  Models professional behavior by being a member of local, state, and/or national psychological organizations.
Outpatient Services is an interdisciplinary team that provides care and treatment to Adults with Serious Mental Illness.  The position requires the ability to perform a multitude of clinical duties, including patient education, case management, treatment planning and group therapy.   Successful candidate must have a strong ability to develop positive working relationships with physicians, treatment team and other departments, to manage significant electronic documentation, and be responsive to the needs of the patients served.
