The Department Secretary will provide secretarial support to the staff and physicians of the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion Imaging Department, maintaining an overall efficient operation with maximum productivity.Consistently communicates in a positive manner with visitors and staff; handles problems that may arise in a professional manner.Demonstrates teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude. Answers telephone in polite and professional manner. Maintains confidentiality of patients and staff in all interactions.Compiles monthly statistical reports for outpatient utilization, quality initiatives, and research.Demonstrates knowledge of filing procedures. Keeps office organized so materials and files are accessible; calendars are maintained; schedules are tracked and work is prioritized.Organizes, maintains and orders supplies for outpatient imaging departments.Collects and distributes paychecks, maintains records; logs, codes and processes bills and invoices. Coordinates committee meetings. Records, transcribes and distributes meeting minutes accurately and in a timely fashion.Inputs and monitors facilities requests and work orders.Performs other duties/projects as assigned.Demonstrates and maintains expertise through attendance and participation in hospital in services, course work, meetings and community education.
Successful candidate will join the Outpatient Pavilion Imaging Team, dedicated to providing the highest in quality patient services. Service areas include diagnostic imaging, operating room, pain procedure room, and digital mammography.Our PACS, D.R. and 3D mammography environment is a great place to expand your professional horizons!
Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion, located next to Sharp Memorial Hospital, offers a wide array of services including cancer treatment, laser vision correction, general and women’s imaging, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, diabetes education, and a community conference center and health library.
This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
Full time, day shift, M-F
Required Skills and Qualifications
· High school graduate or equivalent required
· Three experience as a secretary utilizing word processing and management of filing systems required
· Outstanding Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Skills required
· Typing 50 – 60 wpm
· Ability to effectively operate office equipment (i.e. copier, fax and printers)
· Solid understanding of English, grammar, punctuation and possession of strong math skills required
· Ability to organize work in a busy environment
· Ability to utilize resources within the department and with outside resources
· Effective customer relations and interpersonal skills through telephone and face-to-face contact
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Two years of Radiology experience
