The Development Officer provides frontline fundraising support at the annual gift level to support the operation at SharpMemorialHospital and the Metro Campus (Metro). The Development Officer is responsible for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship by developing and maintaining a portfolio of donors to support pipeline development by increasing membership in the PartnersinHealth program.Serve as employee giving lead for the Metro Campus, back-up for GuardianAngel program, and assist with patient visits as needed. Assists as needed with proposals, presentations, tracking, recording prospect, and donor data, preparing detailed fundraising reports, responding to requests for information and other items as assigned. Prepare materials for staff, board and committee meetings.

This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County



8-hour shift


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiences.
  • Minimum of three (3) years fund raising experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement and initiative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must show initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Comfortable making calls to access donor interest.
  • Computer proficiency; Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Health care fundraising experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and with Raiser's Edge.
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or board members.
