Responsibilities

Summary:
This position will assist with the supervision of the clinical and front desk staff. Must have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.  This role will also room patients, conduct patient exams, answer messages and return phone calls.  
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry consists of 25 providers on our staff to help meet the needs of our patients and is located at 7 of our Sharp Rees-Stealy medical clinics in San Diego (Downtown, La Mesa West, Otay Ranch, Serra Mesa Outpatient Pavilion, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and Sorrento Mesa).

Location
This position is located in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour day shift: 8:00am-5:00pm, no weekends
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) 
  • Two years current Ophthalmic experience and JCAHPO Certification at Assistant level or technical course or comparable technical/surgical experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Leadership/Supervisory experience
