The Financial Analyst is responsible for the analysis of existing operations, variance analysis and reporting. Must be able to identify operational inefficiencies or opportunities through process improvement. The Financial Analyst will assist with the preparation of the operating and capital budgets. The Financial Analyst position duties will include month-end, productivity, statistical reporting and various other recurring tasks, including expense report approval and AP coding. Personal initiative as exhibited by utilizing time between routine workloads, assisting co-workers with varying tasks, and asking supervisor for additional tasks.

The Sharp Rees-Stealy Finance department provides accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, patient billing and collection services, third-party government reimbursement, financial accounting, and budgeting services.

Sharp Rees-Stealy offers the following services lines: Allergy/Immunology, Asthma, Dermatology, Diabetes Education, Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Optometry, Occupational Medicine/Work Injuries, Ophthalmology, Optical Shop, Pharmacy, Radiology, Rehabilitation Services (Physical Therapy, Upper Extremity Rehabilitation), Rheumatology, Ultrasound at 20 locations with 400 primary care doctors and specialists representing virtually every field of medicine.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
  • Intermediate to advance level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to handle confidential details while exercising good judgment and discretion.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work flow, and have the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing health care environment.
  • Must have critical thinking skills to understand, interpret, and analyze financial data from multiple platforms and sources. And must have the ability to effectively communicate the analysis to end users, and provide recommendations to improve operations.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Finance or accounting experience in a healthcare setting
