This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
12-hour night shift:  7:00 pm - 7:30 am; including every other weekend
This is a Per Diem position
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent customer service and communication skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a RN nursing program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals with a Fall 2018 or later graduation date
  • Six months recent experience as a Unit Clerk/Secretary
  • Six months recent Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

The Health Care Partner – HCP will work in a clerk role including welcoming and greeting patients and visitors, answering the telephone and call lights, responding to patient requests for assistance.  The individual will also  assisting nursing staff with transporting, transferring and discharging patients, as well as stocking supplies and cleaning and maintaining equipment.
Sharp Mary Birch Maternal Infant Services is a busy mother baby unit with 72-beds providing post-partum and newborn care.
