We are seeking an Imaging Specialist II with a primary focus in the Cardiovascular EP lab.  Will be responsible for direct patient care to include scrubbing, circulating and monitoring diagnostic and complex electrophysiology procedures.  Case types include diagnostic EP studies, catheter ablations (SVT, Afib, VT), left atrial occlusion devices, and device implantations.  Will work in a fast-paced environment utilizing complex EP specialty equipment including advance 3-D mapping systems, stimulation systems, and traditional recording systems.

The EP Imaging Specialist II has direct interface with patients and successful accomplishment of their EP procedures and patient safety protocols. Participates in education and competence training.  Demonstrates expertise related to EP theory and technical skills.  Performs other related duties within the Cath Lab as assigned.  The cath lab works as a team and the ideal candidate possesses good interpersonal communication skills representative of highly functioning teams.

The Cardiac Cath Lab at Sharp Memorial Hospital has five cardiac cath suites and a 14 bed CV staging unit.  The common patient population consists of diagnostic cardiac and peripheral catheterization, percutaneous coronary and peripheral intervention, as well as electrophysiology procedures patients.  We provide pre and post op patient care and assist physicians with procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, ECHO guided endomyocardial biopsies, tilt table studies and arrhythmia cardioversion.

This position is located at Sharp Memorial Hospital in the community of Serra Mesa, San Diego County


10 hour shifts; Per Diem position to work Day Shift hours; 7:00 am - 5:30 pm; no weekends and no call

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Current California License in Radiologic Technology (CRT)
  • Current California Fluoroscopy permit
  • ARRT
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Must be proficient in scrubbing, monitoring and circulating during invasive procedures performed in a large cardiac cath lab
  • Knowledge/experience with overseeing all aspects of radiation safety and equipment in the cardiac cath lab
  • General basic computer skills to include PACs, Microsoft office, Cerner
  • Good communication and Team work skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications 
  • Recent experience with EP studies, ablations and trans-septal procedure preparation including equipment and supplies.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Basic EKG interpretation
