The Lactation Educator will work in Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns' retail breastfeeding boutique offering information on breastfeeding, breastfeeding products and answer questions via telephone. Customer service skills are valuable as well as being compassionate and understanding.
At Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns' New Beginnings Boutique & Gift Shop, new moms, families and friends can find specialty products and services for moms and moms-to-be, including: Breastfeeding accessories and pumps, baby scale and breast pump rentals, nursing bras and newborn and preemie clothing. A knowledgeable staff of lactation educators provides support for breastfeeding families in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
Per Diem position. 10:00 am - 4:00 pm; weekends as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Lactation Educator (CLE)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers issues by the American Heart Association
- Excellent customer service skills required, ability to work as a team, as well as independently
- Ability to work well with a variety of people
Preferred Skills and Qualification
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of one year as an active Certified Lactation Educator (CLE)
- Retail experience
- Basic computer knowledge
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
