Responsibilities

Summary
The Clinical Nurse Lead - RN position offers great opportunity to widen one's horizon in clinical competencies and nursing leadership. This role is dynamic and offers flexibility and opportunity for teaching, mentoring and leadership. This position demonstrates clinical competence and positive leadership and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated to participate in quality improvement unit activities, coach staff in compliance with behavior standards, enhancement of clinical performance and oversee daily operation of the department.
SMV'S ECT Department provides electroconvulsive therapy to an average of 80 or more patients per week. ECT is administered by psychiatrists with an anesthesiologist and R.N. present. The patient is then monitored in the ECT recovery room. They recently received a core award for their outstanding people skills. They offer their patients a ray of hope in dealing with an often devastating illness. Recover and assess patients post-ect, assist with scheduling patients and utilization review, provide education, reassurance, and intervention as necessary to patients and families.
As the largest behavioral health care provider in San Diego with 158 beds, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital provides a full range of programs to people of all ages including children, adolescents, adults and seniors challenged by depression, substance abuse or serious mental illness. The hospital’s robust Clinical Research Program has conducted more than 300 clinical trials of investigational medications since its inception in 1995, providing new options and hope for people with mental illness.
Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offer outpatient programs throughout the community.

This position is located in Serra Mesa, San Diego County
 
Hours
8-hour day shift, variable hours, full-time (1.0), no weekends
 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Two years recent Psychiatric RN experience
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Current ACLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Leadership experience
  • ECT RN experience
  • PACU experience
