The Lead Certified Histology Technician is a key member of the team that provides the technical knowledge, expertise, leadership and judgment required to support the Sharp HealthCare (SHC) mission and scope of laboratory services. Previous experience in immunohistochemistry is required for the candidate.
The Sharp HealthCare Copley Laboratory is the centralized reference laboratory responsible for supporting the Sharp HealthCare system. The scope of services includes the Pathology Lab, Immunology, Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostic testing and is operational 24 hours per day/7 days per week. This position is located in Kearny Mesa, San Diego County
8-hour day shift: 3:30 am - 12:00 pm; including weekends as needed
This is a Full Time (1.0) Position: 80 hours per 2 week pay period
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education required for ASCP Histotechnician certification
- Current Histotechnician (HT-ASCP) certification
- 3 or more years full time equivalent experience in an anatomic pathology/histology lab
- Experience performing IHC and Special Stains, validation and all routine and special histology procedures
- Exceptional customer service, communication, relationship and critical decision making skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- HTL and/or QIHC Certification
- BS Degree
