Responsibilities

Summary

The Lead Therapy Services is responsible for the execution of clinical functions for an Intensive Outpatient Program.  Implements procedures and carries out activities ensuring the quality of patient care and the overall efficient management of the program.

The Trauma and PTSD Recovery Intensive Outpatient Program at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital treats patients diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The program provides psychoeducation and behavioral treatment approaches to assist the patient to discover integrative ways to cope with symptoms of trauma, as well as evidenced based treatments to explore and work through these life altering traumas. The clinicians are crossed trained in principles of mental health, addiction and trauma treatments, including CPT. Different levels of treatment accommodate the individual needs of the patient and a team of highly dedicated professionals provide the highest quality patient care.

As the largest behavioral health care provider in San Diego with 149 beds, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital provides a full range of programs to people of all ages including children, adolescents, adults and seniors challenged by depression, substance abuse or serious mental illness. The hospital’s robust Clinical Research Program has conducted more than 250 clinical trials of investigational medications since its inception in 1963, providing new options and hope for people with mental illness.

Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offers outpatient programs throughout the community.

Location

This position is located in El Cajon, San Diego County

 

Hours

8-hour variable day shift; no weekends

This is a Full-Time (1.0) Position: 80 hours per 2 week pay period

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field
  • Current unencumbered California LCSW, LMFT or Licensed Psychologist
  • Three years’ experience in a psychiatric setting

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Military Cultural Competence
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Training
  • Trauma Training: Prolonged Exposure, T-CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
  • Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)
